We decided to try this place because it's so close to our home. When we walked in, we noticed it's very loud. The hostess was very nice and we were seated right away. Our server, a young guy, was friendly and came to our table quickly. He asked my husband what he'd like to drink and then walked away without asking me if I'd like a drink, not a big problem because I was going to drink water. My husband ordered pancakes and I ordered an omelette. The menu states that omelettes come with a choice of fruit or potatoes and a choice of toast. Our server never asked me what I'd like. We thought he'd come back when he placed the order but he didn't. When I got my entree, it had a side of potatoes and no toast. My food was just ok but my husbands pancakes were awful. We won't be back. Pros Nice hostess Very clean Cons Server was not trained Very loud Bad pancakes

Excellent new place in the neighborhood. Nice owners. Not a chain. Same space as Michael's used to be in. Let's welcome them to the neighborhood. Tell your friends. Went with my daughter and her friend during lunch. Mostly local people stopping by but the place was packed with no advertising. The owner is trying to do a "soft" open My daughter's friend got an omelette and it was quite large. She said it was excellent. My daughter had the tuna sandwich and enjoyed it but it was too big for her hands she said. They served a creamy cole slaw on the side which I tasted and it seemed to be home made and quite good. I had the Mile high skillet which I think is the typical "gypsy" in other restaurants and it was very tasty. Lots of flavor and not too much cheese. Prices - I felt they were extremely reasonable for any restaurant in the area and for the portion size. Coffee - Lavazza. The only minus I would say is that we sat in the back room in the center and it was pretty noisy.

I was very excited to see this new addition to the dining options in the area. Went with a coworker today for lunch. The place is bright and airy inside. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was delicious! Our only complaint would be the noise level. It's loud to the point of distraction. We were actually finding it hard to have a conversation. Hopefully the owners can do something to resolve the noise problem going forward. We will definitely be back.

Suburbanites, we can do better than the inexplicable live of Egg Harbor, and this is a step in the right direction. Service by Jennette was friendly and attentive and most importantly the menu was bit better than those basic suburban brunch places while still working with the classics. Really liked my omelette and my wife enjoyed the challah french toast. Definitely will try the poutine and eggs next time I'm in the area.

Very friendly staff. A little pricey but very large portions as sandwiches are two meals as all my children left with doggie bags. Bright cheerful atmosphere. Samuel was our waiter, he was very upbeat and came back many times to check up on us. He topped off coffee three times. Food was well prepared on nice looking plates.

Really liked the food. Damn better than Buffalo Restaurant, which I don't see how anyone with active taste buds can enjoy. But I digress. The only downside (other than the banal decor) is the prices... me, my wife and two kids paid $54 including a 15% tip for lunch. That's quite insane. $3.75 for four strips of bacon? Come on... I'd probably go again, but only with one kid or my wife, just because I'm not paying $54 for brunch.

Great service and you can tell the food is homemade. Just had lunch here and lunch was so good that we'll be having breakfast here tomorrow.

Excellent! Service is fast and friendly! Food is delicious and value is great. The place is busy at lunch time and yet the service is still wonderful. I was checked on several times by my server and other's to make sure I had what I needed. Highly recommend! Can't wait to return!

We enjoyed our visit to Maple Cafe. Not slammed on a Wednesday around 1130, but a decent crowd. Our waitress was a sweetheart. I had the Monterey Chicken Sandwich w no cheese and it was delicious. Chicken had a nice char crust and the avocado and pico were fresh and tasty. Just got a side of fruit but since I don't like melon (all fruit sides are 80 percent melon), the accommodated w/ grapes, strawberries and pineapple w zero melon. This I greatly appreciated. Wife had the omelet which she seemingly enjoyed considering the food to plate ratio at the end of the meal. We will be back for a nice relaxing breakfast/brunch/lunch.

Brunch is the most important meal on the weekends and with a dearth in the immediate area, Maple Cafe is a welcomed establishment. Once a Michael's Red Hots, host to mostly cricket sounds and tumbleweeds, noon time at Maple was bustling. I've brunched here on two occasions with family and friends. As expected, large groups are always a headache to service, but Maple took on the challenge. Omelettes, benedicts, skillets, french toast, fish tacos, and a kid who'd eat nothing else but a burger with pickles... needed to have pickles, or else! Leave your frou-frouness at the door and settle in with hearty portions. It's brunch-- I'd expect nothing less. Loved the endless pours of Lavazza coffee. Given that it's a super short drive from my parents' place, it's easily my family's go-to spot to meet and brunch it up.

Coworkers and I stopped by for lunch on the way to a different place we had in mind. Saw that it was packed and decided to try out the newly renovated place. Atmosphere: clean, cafe like, plenty of seating of booths and tables. Service: excellent staff and service. Polite, prompt and friendly. Food: between the eggs, French toast, poutine( yes they had poutine!) and Paris Benedict, we had 4 very happy mouths. Good selection and menu! Pricing: combos not as inclusive as typical breakfast deals and end up being fairly expensive for relatively small portions. Extras like 2 slices of bacon cost $3.75. Would come back again tho.

As you first walk into the establishment, it appeared to be a nice place. as soon as you sit down you wait several minutes for the server then after you order your food it took approximately 20 minutes to receive our food when there were only 4 people in the entire restaurant. I ordered two eggs up, bacon and a side of white toast . I use the toast to dip into the eggs and I couldn't even get through one piece of toast for both eggs. The bacon at Mariano's is much better. this bacon tasted very dry. My friend and my coffee cups sat empty and I had to ask the host to bring us more. I have no idea what the problem was, because there were only 4 people in the entire place. The hispanic gentleman server was very kind, but had broken english, which made it very difficult to understand him and had to repeat myself several times by saying,"what did you just say"? now onto the bathrooms ..... as I enter the bathroom it looked OK and appeared to be clean then when I washed my hands I could see it the dirt on the tile walls. For a brand new place, I was surprised to see they still had the original hand dryer. After looking around, the counters had old caulk on the counters too, which had been discolored. I'm sorry, but I won't be back.

Lavazza coffee Lunch looked great. Environment was clean and way more inviting than Michaels. Need to expand kids menu. Great fresh squeezed OJ.

It was very good, service was attentive and the food quality very nice and order delivered exactly as requested. The place is neat and clean and worthy of a return visit. I had breakfast this time and my omelet and hash browns were great.

Lavazza coffee is always great. I like a lot of water with my meals so I appreciate them leaving a carafe of water at the table so you don't have to flag someone down. The chicken noodle soup was excellent. I had the BLT which was wonderful on challah bread but a bit skimpy on the bacon and the mayo aioli . My daughter had a Greek omelette which was filled to the brim with feta and spinach.

It's okay. Food comes too slow even when just 2-3 tables are occupied. Came more out of convenience for a 3rd try. Huge place, but they should've added a counter here for a more "diner" feel. Better places are Walker Bros & Egg Harbor.

Great food, not so great service. If you want fantastic breakfast, good place to go. However, from the hostess to the servers they are somewhat dismissive in their care of you. This makes the experience less joyful especially if it's supposed to be a local place.

Oh how we wanted to love you, Maple Cafe, but we're no longer going to "date you." Three tries, each a different bad experience from poor service to poorly prepared foods to more of both. This morning was a huge disappointment. Both of us ordered Eggs Benedict cooked medium. But the dish arrived with eggs so runny, that even the whites were uncooked. Waiter returned them back to the kitchen and then they were hard boiled. Crummy breakfast. No manager to address the problem with so the chef was brought out. Now here was a man who understood customer service. Very apologetic and comped our meal, but honestly, it was too late to save the "relationship."

Great new breakfast place! Tried the corned beef hash - really good! - and the banana walnut French toast. Will definitely be back!

I have to say what a nice change from the previous dive. I decided to stop by and try out the new establishment. The place has gone through a nice renovation and looks great. I was immediately sat and soon a waitress took my order. I ordered the Challah Vanilla Bean French Toast, which was wonderful! Hash Browns were good. Orange Juice was fresh squeezed. Mmm! Yummy! Wait staff was very nice and the owner walked around making sure everyone was enjoying their meal. I will definitely be back.

Was there on Father's Day. 20 minute wait. Waitress was friendly and took order. Was about 20minutes before the food came (expect it to be a little slow). 2 of the 3 meals were incorrect. The waitress started showing us what she wrote down and said one of the meals were correct (after showing her the eggs were not one was sent back). The other was kept due to not wanting to wait. The owner walked by and said the kept meal would be taken off the meal. When the bill arrived no meals were taken off. After informing the waitress a cheaper meal was removed. Walker Brothers and Rise and Dine are much better places to eat! We will not be back.

Had breakfast this morning and it was good. Both of us had an omelet, regular and egg white, and both were light and fluffy. Coffee was good and not watered down like you get at a number of the other breakfast places. Bacon was a a thicker cut and had a sweetness to it. Overall, I was happy with the experience and will be back again for breakfast and to try lunch. The only thing that I would say could improve is making a side order option for the biscuits and gravy.

New place - very innovative menu - nice addition to the usual options around the Lincolnshire, Buffalo Grove, Lake Zurich Area - prices similar to Walker Brothers. At my visit they had only been open a week or so - there are service kinks with timing to be worked out but Maple Cafe shows great potential.

The staff was super-nice to my kids and me. The food was delivered quickly. My coffee cup was never empty. My daughter had a waffle with berries, and the fruit was fresh and delicious. My son had the Bananas Foster Crepes, which came in a large portion. I loved the Mediterranean omelet. The only complaint we had was the potatoes in my husband's skillet were a bit underdone. We'll definitely be back.
